On this occasion, the citizens of Mayo will elect a mayor as well as six councillors who will take part in the decisions shaping the future of our community.

Recruitment of Election Personnel

The Municipality of Mayo is recruiting individuals to work during the advance poll (October 26, 2025) and on polling day (November 2, 2025).

Positions to be filled:

  • Deputy returning officers (scrutateurs)

  • Poll clerks (secretaries of polling stations)

Each hired individual will receive paid training as well as financial compensation for their work.

  • Your previous relevant experience, if any

Becoming a candidate

Would you like to get involved in municipal politics? You may submit your candidacy for mayor or for one of the six councillor positions.

Documents must be submitted to the municipal office, to the returning officer.

Requirements for voting in municipal elections

To vote, you must meet the following conditions on November 2, 2025:

On November 2, 2025, you must also meet one of the following two conditions, depending on your domiciliary address.

  1. If your domicile is located in the municipality, you must:
    • Have lived in Québec for at least six months.
  2. If your domicile is not located in the municipality, you must:

If you are a non-resident elector, you must complete Form SMRC-9.2-VA (Application for entry on the list of electors).

If you are co-owners or co-occupants, you must designate a single person by proxy using Form SMRC-9.1-VA.

  • Québec Health Insurance Card

  • Québec Driver’s Licence

  • Canadian Passport

  • Certificate of Indian Status

  • Canadian Forces Identity Card

Election of the Warden – MRC of Papineau

In addition to electing the mayor and councillors of Mayo, citizens will also vote for the position of Warden of the MRC of Papineau.
