Prevention: Your safety is the priority
What you need to know :
- Each apartment or dwelling must have at least 1 smoke alarm per floor;
- Smoke detectors must be replaced every 10 years;
- Batteries should be replaced every 6 months. Doing it at the same time as the time changes is ideal;
- If you use an auxiliary heating device other than electric (fireplace, wood stove and/or oil and/or gas), it is mandatory to use a carbon monoxide detector;

- Plan an emergency plan as well as a common meeting point outside with your family in the event of a fire;
- It is very important to get your chimney swept at least once a year.
